Examples of MPT-Orthopedics

1.         Shown below are schematic diagrams of posture curves of spine that represent normal and abnormal curves (curve 1, curve 2, and curve 3).  The curves 1, 2 and 3 correctly correspond to which one of the following respectively

        A)  lordosis, kyphosis, & sway back

        B)  sway back, kyphosis, & lordosis

        C)  kyphosis, sway back & lordosis

D)    sway back, lordosis, & kyphosis

2             A deformity in the right hip is masked by exaggerated lordosis as shown

in Figure 1.  The deformity is unmasked by flexion of normal opposite i.e. left hip as shown in Figure 2.

The deformity in the right hip is

                (A)   fixed flexion

                (B)   fixed abduction

                (C)   fixed internal rotation

                (D)   fixed adduction

3.         An adult male patient presented with 6-week old injury to the knee.  Clinically, there was an excessive gliding of tibia over the femur in posterior direction.  The most probable clinical diagnosis is

        A)  anterior cruciate ligament tear

        B)  medial collateral ligament tear

        C)  posterior cruciate ligament tear

        D)  medial meniscus tear
